Tartan Viewer is a completely free download and once installed will render a .ttn file simply by double clicking the .ttn file.  The .ttn file contains all information including the sett, thread counts, colour information and notes.  We have released the full technical specification of the .ttn format as open source allowing third party developers to use the standard - click here for a white paper on the specification.  It is also completely backward compatible with designs created using the original Tartan Generator and Tartan Viewer will render these using the Modern colour pallet.  If the .ttn file is created using Tartan Designer then the specific colour swatch used to create the file will be used.
